Day 4: I feel AMAZING!

I made it past Day 3 and headed into Day 4. I definitely feel like I could keep going. My skin and body are loving me for doing this...

6:30am: Wow. I am really up this early without hitting snooze a million times! I feel awake and alert.

7:15am: I down a Tea's Tea Green Tea and I feel jittery. I really feel like I can feel the caffeine, which is crazy because of how much I've reduced my caffeine intake.

9:00am: First juice! I'm craving it. This morning I am starting off with an Antioxidant Blast. I didn't get a lot of Green Lemonades in my order so this is going to have to do. I have to remind myself to take small sips. I want to down the whole thing because it tastes so good.

11:00am: Joos20. These aren't my favorite.

12pm: Salad from Whole Foods.

2pm: Detox tea

5pm: Antioxidant Blast.

7pm: Meeting a friend for dinner. We are meeting at Panera Bread so that I'm not tempted to eat bad or drink.  I got the Low fat Vegetarian Black Bean soup.

Day 3: Feeling good!

Half way point! I think anyone can do a 3 Day Cleanse on Joos. Drinks are tasty and you can have a sensible lunch! You should try it..

Overall I'm feeling good. My headache has reduced so I'm cutting back another green tea this afternoon. I pick up the 2nd half of my cleanse tonight after work. Total weight loss since juice cleanse started on Monday: 4lbs.

8am: I was really craving an iced coffee this morning. Instead of pulling into Dunks for my medium iced I had a Teas'Tea Pure Green Tea. They are zero calories and unsweetened. You can buy the large bottles or the small bottles which are 500ml.

10am: First juice of the day! It's a green one so naturally I'm a little scared. It's Green Lemonade. Name sounds good and it doesn't look as scary as the Blueprint Cleanse green juice. And, it tastes soooo much better. I'm not holding my nose which is fantastic. Maybe I'm getting used to them, but this tastes okay.

12pm: Joos20 w/ apple. Not the greatest in the world, but it's okay.

1:35pm: Definitely feeling hungry. Today for lunch it's 1 cup of Roasted Tomato Basil Soup from Whole Foods. I'm wishing I could mix some pasta in this.

3pm: Dropping down again in caffeine. No green tea this afternoon. I am only having a Yogi Healthy Fasting tea which supports detoxification while dieting.

5pm: Joos20 and 2 mini muffins. The mini muffins are so yummy. I can't believe they are made from the pulp of vegetables. I would never in a million years think that they weren't the real thing. I like that they trick my body into thinking that I'm having something sweet.

7pm: Antioxidant Blast. I have a slight headache from reducing my caffeine intake today.

9:30pm: Early bedtime tonight. Definitely feel sleepy, but I don't have hunger pains. Just really tired.

Day 2: First full day of Joos cleanse starts today!!

Okay here we go! Juice cleanse Day 2 with juices from Joos which you can order from drinkjoos.com.

7:30am: Green tea (2 teabags), I have to take the edge off my caffeine withdrawal headache.

9am: I went into the kitchen at work and dumped my entire Green Lemonade on the counter and floor because the lid to my cup came off. So, I am starting off with Antioxidant Blast by Joos. It is carrot, celery, cucumber, bok choy, apple, kale, chard, collards, lemon and lime. It's YUMMY. Going down very easy. I don't even have to hold my nose because it tastes very good. Much much better than the drink I had yesterday.

11am: Joos20 (Hydrating Mineral Water, Purified Water, lemon, beet, agave, tumeric, ginger, cinnamon) and 2 Mini Muffin Coco Chips. Mini Muffins are made from the pulp of 100% Organic Fresh pressed Joos. They are low fat, high protein, gluten-free flower, sugar-free and high in fiber. And, they are delicious! Drink tastes good too.

1pm: Lunch time! Today I ordered the Hatchback salad(without cheddar cheese)  from B*Good. It is baby spinach, apples, dried cranberries, sweet potatoes and walnuts with only 1 Tbsp of honey mustard dressing. SO GOOD!

3pm: Tea time. Today's tea is Tazo Zen tea and Yogi Detox tea. Yogi Detox Tea supports healthy liver and kidney function.

5pm: Joos20 again and ate a mini muffin.

7pm: I had dinner with a friend tonight and was able to order off the vegetarian menu. It did have cheese in it which is a no-no, but oh well.

Juice Cleanse Day 1: Good, Bad and the Ugly Truth

Here we go!! Juice Cleanse starts today! I think the hardest parts will be giving up coffee. I can have coffee black, but I am going to try to not have coffee. I am doing the Juice Cleanse from Drinkjoos.com it is a local juice cleanse out of Newton, MA. They deliver to a bunch of places in MA. I have to go pick up my first 12 bottles tonight after work. I wanted to get started so I went to Whole Foods this morning and bought 4 Blueprint Cleanse juices.

9am: First drink for breakfast and my first juice of the day. Yes, this is from the Blueprint Cleanse and not Joos.  I read online that you should start your first drink with a green drink. As you can read from the container it is kale, apple, romaine, spinach, cucumber, celery, parsley and lemon. Well, I can tell you..it's disgusting. I hold my nose every time I drink it or otherwise I am gagging. I am also switching to green tea and drinking a ton of water. You can purchase the Blueprint Cleanse drinks at Whole Foods for $9.99.

11:30am: Juice #2 is pineapple, apple and mint. It is BY FAR better than my first juice. It tastes sweet and a lot easier to go down than the first juice. If you can see in the back I am also drinking a ton of water. I am required to drink a half my body weight in ounces of water throughout the day as well.

12:30pm: Lunch time! The best part about my Joos Cleanse is that I can have a 'sensible' lunch. Pretty much all the other juice cleanses I have read about in my research you are ONLY drinking juice for 3, 5 or 7 days. Pretty sure I couldn't do that. Luckily on my cleanse, you are allowed a salad (no dressing) or soup. No dairy, no meat, no wheat or processed foods. Today I hit up the salad bar at my work. I am eating a salad with spinach, iceberg lettuce, carrots, raw broccoli, corn, and brown rice. You are allowed brown rice, quinoa or lentils. Today I went with brown rice. So far I'm feeling okay. I can feel the headache coming on from reducing my caffeine intake. I've lost track of how many times I've had to pee today which is not surprising because of the amount of liquid you are drinking.  I'm not running to the bathroom like I feared, but it's only half way through day 1 so we'll see what happens.

2:30pm: Tea time! Headache is worsening so time for some tea. I am having a Tazo Zen tea (green tea, lemongrass, spearmint) and Yogi Healthy Fasting tea (caffeine free supports detox while fasting). Prior to my juice cleanse I was drinking 3 cups of coffee a day, which is a ballpark figure of about 391mg of caffeine. Today's caffeine intake is 135mg.

4:30pm: Time for another juice. I am drinking lime, ginger, lemon, agave. If you took out the ginger and added tequila it would taste like the skinny girl margarita. I DO NOT like drinking ginger. It's grotty. Not a fan.

7pm: Last juice of the day. Beet, apple, carrot, lemon and lime. Nasty.

10pm: Bed time. Not feeling hungry. Just very tired and have a slight headache from the caffeine withdrawal.

I survived Day 1. I picked up my Joos cleanse tonight and I start that tomorrow.
